Tahu atau Faham?

I’ve been reading the Quran translations lately. At first I thought it might be a wee bit dry, but I make full use of today’s advanced technology
I’m a modern Muslimah eh? :p Anyways, I downloaded a Quran Translation Software in English Version to my phone! Alhamdulillah, I’m enjoying and loving it. Whenever I couldn’t shut my eyes at night, Quran software is just a click away. There was a time during my pre-hijab days, all that I know is that Quran have all the answers to your questions. I know that everything is in there. But being heedless dulu, I didn’t have the heart to look up to the translation. I was being narrow-minded to think that the Malay translation was a bit complicated for me to understand. And I didn’t even make an effort to look for English Quran translations. To be frank, I never thought English Quran translations exist! Yes, I was shallow -.-” Alhamdulillah, Allah
has given me lots of pertunjuk and has made his right path visible to my eyes.
Let me share something worth knowing and worth thinking with all my habibi here.
How far do you know about your religion, Islam?
How far do you understand your religion, Islam?
Is there even a difference between knowing and understanding our great religion, Islam?
Lets take a typical example of whats happening in our country Brunei Darussalam these days. Religious studies is available in almost all schools in Brunei. In government schools, this noble subject is compulsory to all the students, regardless of their races and religions. Meaning to say that even the Chinese, Indians or any other races need to learn about our religion as a subject. Sad to say that most of the times, they are the ones who score higher marks in IRK (religious studies) than the Muslims themselves. We know our religion because we learned it in school. They know our religion because they learned it in school too! But again, a very disappointing fact but true, the Muslims are just similar to the non-Muslims because majority of the Muslims failed to understand our noble religion, Islam. Shouldn’t we be ashamed of this people? Us Muslims, do not want to be like the non-Muslims. So sahabat-sahabat ku, lets do our duty as a Muslim. Usahakanlah.
VS
Kita gunakan otak kita untuk mengetahui agama kita. Tapi untuk memahami agama kita, kita tidak gunakan otak, tetapi kita gunakan hati kita.
To understand our religion, we need our heart to do its job. We use our heart to appreciate ayat-ayat Allah
, not our brains my dear friends. We will never understand Islam using our brains. Why? It’s like when you learn the sciences, mathematics and all, all those subjects need our brains! Blerrgh. But bila kita read novels, boleh menangis di buat nya kan? Why? Because kita baca gunakan hati. I’m speaking of the FEEEEEEELLL. Why can’t we understand our Quran dengan hati kita? Rather than just reciting the Quran without understanding its meaning? I tell you, Quran can make you cryyy pun! So we should have that FEEEEEEL when we understand and appreciate Quran.
” Ketahuilah bahawa dalam setiap jasad itu ada seketul daging yang apabila ia baik, maka baiklah seluruh jasad dan apabila ia rosak, maka rosaklah seluruh jasad. Ketahuilah ia adalah hati.”
(Hadith Sahih Bukhari.)

So sahabat-sahabat ku, it is a must to cleanse our heart. Why? Because basically our heart is rusty with all the minor and major sins we’ve done intentionally or not. But how? La Tahzan. We have our ‘life-manual’, Al-Quran. We can always cleanse our heart by reciting the magnificent Quran. At the same time, when we recite the Quran, Allah
is ‘talking’ to us.
And when we pray, we are ‘talking’ to Allah
The Almighty. Masya Allah
.
Always remind yourself with these Quran Verses:
Remind yourself of WHY are you on this earth?
” And I have not created the jinn and the men except that they should serve Me. “
” I do not desire from them any sustenance and I do not desire that they should feed Me. “
” Surely Allah
is the Bestower of sustenance, the Lord of Power, the Strong. ”
( Quran Verse; 51:56-58 )
Masya Allah
. This verse is one of my favorite verses!
I hope you learn something from this post, Insya Allah
.
